TRC runners Making Hearts Race this Valentine’s Weekend!

Armagh Intersport Women’s 3k

This race is billed as one of the fastest 3km road races in Europe and draws top athletes from across the country and further afield. After a few days of stormy weather, it broke in time for a night of super-fast running!

The event takes place around the Mall in Armagh City centre, with the woman’s race comprising of 3 laps of flat, fast running.  Anne O’Doherty finished in a fantastic time of 11:56 (averaging 3:58 per km!) Well done Anne!

EAMS Valentine’s Run Half marathon from Loughshore to Gideon’s Green

This Valentine’s Day race was described as very wet with driving wind, with the course comprising 3 out and back loops from Loughshore Park in Jordanstown to Gideon’s Green and back.  Thankfully no hills were involved for our runners during this tough weather race!  Andy Campbell and Jacqueline Mc Gonigle completed the run together in a fantastic time of 3:08.03.9! Amazing running.  Thanks to EAMS for their support and hospitality on the day.

Limavady Park Run 250th Event

Joining in the celebrations at this fantastic event in Limavady were two of our Termoneeny runners. Michael Burke who ran a superb 20:01 coming in 2nd place, and Michelle Comer who finished in 32:26. Well done to you both!

Portrush Parkrun

In what was described as a “tight one”, due to the challenging, stormy weather conditions, Saturday saw Kerry Archibald take on this out and back course for the first time with a finish time of 34:03.

Congratulations Kerry!

Thanks to all the volunteers who make Parkruns possible every week.

Parkanaur 10 Mile Sperrin Harriers Winter Series

It was touch and go on Saturday morning as to whether this race might actually go ahead due to storm Dennis.  However nothing could dampen the spirits of two of our runners!  The course consisted of 4 loops of the forest to complete the 10 miles.  It was extremely wet underfoot and very windy during the race as can be seen by the pics! Helena Quinn even managed to take first lady position, home despite the awful conditions!

Results:

Helena Quinn 1:08.54

Tony Toner 1:12.48

Thanks to Sperrin harriers for their hospitality and another successful Winter Series.

Run Armagh Valentines Half marathon

Sunday saw Jacqueline McGonigle take on this notoriously testing trail course at Folly Glen.  The runners completed 7.5 out and back loops with only couple of rain showers to contend with.  Otherwise there was sun and blue skies for the most part. Jacqueline completed the course it in a brilliant time of 2:51.43. Amazing Jacqueline!

Glenmore 10 Mile Road Race

Two of our runners braved Storm Dennis to race 10 miles at Finn Valley, also on Sunday morning.  There was hail, rain, strong winds and even a little sunshine to contend with! However one of our most prolific runners,   Andy Campbell managed a PB, well done!

Results:

Tracy A Shanahan 1:53.27

Andy Campbell 2:04.27 (PB)
