Amy Bulman secures podium place at Great North 10k!


Great North 10k 2017:

Northern Ireland international cross country runner Amy Bulman (Willowfield Harriers) secured a podium place at the Great North 10k road race in Newcastle, England (Sunday 9th July 2017).

Amy covered the route in 39:10, taking 3rd place.  The race was won by Sarah Laverty (Edinburgh AC) in 37:28 (1st place).

After the race, Amy spoke to, explaining: “It was a hard race in tough conditions – warm and windy.  Speaking to the other podium finishers, both the men and women said they were about two minutes off their current personal bests.”

Amy added, “It may not have been one of my best performances but racing with some of the best runners from Gateshead Harriers fill me with confidence.  It’s exciting getting a podium place in a bigger event and it just makes me hungry for more!”
