Amy Foster continues to impress at Euro Team Championships 2017!


European Team Championships (Day 2):

On Saturday 24th June 2017, local athletes were again in action for the Ireland team at the European Team Championships in Vassa, Finland.

City of Lisburn AC’s Amy Foster again excelled – following on from her 11.59 finish in yesterday’s 100m semi-final, the NI record holder secured 2nd place in the final, crossing the line in 11.70.

In the 3,000m Steeplechase, Newcastle AC’s Kerry O’Flaherty continued her return to full fitness with a strong performance.  The Rio Olympian clocked 10:11.58 for 7th place.

In the men’s 4x100m NI man Christian Robinson (City of Lisburn AC) and team mates Eanna Madden, Mark Smyth and Marcus Lawler took 4th place in 40.47.

In the field, Adam McMullen (Crusaders AC) jumped to 7.64m in the Long Jump (4th place).

The action continues tomorrow, with Emma Mitchell (QUB AC), Ann-Marie McGlynn (Letterkenny AC) and Andrew Mellon (Crusaders AC) are still to compete.
