Jude Gallagher Memorial ‘Round the Bridges’ 10 mile road race:
On Thursday 29th July 2017, nearly nine hundred athletes took to the start line of the annual Jude Gallagher Memorial ‘Round the Bridges’ 10 mile road race in Limavady, an event hosted by Springwell Running Club.
North Belfast Harriers athlete Andrew Annett followed on from his impressive outing at the Lisburn 10k with an excellent victory. In wet and windy conditions, the Kilkeel man recorded 52:25 for 1st place. City of Derry AC’s Gary Slevin also looked in good form as he secured 2nd place in 53:38 – his team mate, international mountain runner Allan Bogle (City of Derry AC), crossed the line in 54:23 for 3rd place.
Rio Olympian Breege Connolly (Unattached) showed her class in the ladies race, winning comfortably in 58:52 (1st place). The host club’s Ciara Toner (Springwell Running Club) took 2nd place in 1:02:05, while Karen McLaughlin (Springwell Running Club) claimed the final podium place in 1:07:27 (3rd place).

NI’s Emma Mitchell (Banbridge AC) claimed comfortable win over 5,000m at Sollentuna GP in Sweden (Thursday 29/6/17) – the NI record holder clocked 16:05.61 for victory!
Closer to home on Tuesday night (27/6/17), City of Lisburn AC’s Johnny Whan ran a huge 1500m PB of 3:52.62 at the BMC Stretford Meet.
