Annual Coaching Awards 2019

Athletics NI invite you to nominate your favourite coaches in the following categories:

  • Participation/ Community Coach of the Year
  • Development Coach of the Year
  • Young Coach of the Year

This is the perfect opportunity for you to recognise the valuable contribution of your coaches and all the hard work and dedication they put in throughout the year.

Help us to celebrate the great work that our Coaches do! The Coaching Awards will be presented at the Annual Coaching Conference on Sunday 1st December 2019.

Endurance Coaches Network

Calling all endurance athletes & coaches!

Date: Friday 8th November 2019
Venue: Stormont Hotel, Belfast
Time: 7.30pm-9.30pm

Dr Stephen Seiler, Professor of Sports Science at the University of Adger in Norway, will deliver a seminar on training balance for endurance athletes “Intensify or Extend? Balancing Training Prescription across the Distance Running Range” for endurance athletes training for middle and long distance events and their coaches. This is the perfect opportunity for you to hear from an expert in Endurance Running, so don’t miss out!

Annual Coaching Conference 2019

 

Date: Saturday 1st December 2019
Venue: Ulster University, Jordanstown
Time: 9.30am- 4.30pm

The Annual Coaching Conference is the chance for coaches from across Northern Ireland to get together to develop their skills as well as to discuss their ideas with like-minded coaches and experts.

This year’s keynote speakers will be British Athletics Head of Field and Combined Events, Peter Stanley and author and physiologist, Dr. Steve Ingham. There will also be various breakout options, including talks from Irish Olympian Race Walker, Colin Griffin, British Olympian, Laura Turner-Alleyne and Commonwealth Games Shot-Putter, Ryan Spencer-Jones.
