Brendan Guiney and Amy Bulman claim victory at Craigavon Lakes 10k!

Craigavon Lakes 10k & 5k 2018:

On Wednesday 6th June 2018, well over 500 athletes descended on the picturesque Craigavon Lakes for the Craigavon Lakes 10k road race and associated 5k event.

Beechmount Harriers athlete Brendan Guiney pushed the pace at the front from the off and led the field through half way and into the second of two laps.  Well-respected Annadale Striders man Conor McMullan gave chase but there was no stopping Brendan as he broke the tape in 34:43 (1st place).  Conor crossed the line in 34:59 for 2nd place.  The final podium place went to Martn Fox (Team Dog), who recorded 36:16 for 3rd place.

Amy Bulman (Willowfield Harriers) made a welcome return to competitive action with a win in the ladies race.  The Northern Ireland international clocked 38:22 for 1st place; this was enough to see Amy claim 9th place overall. Donna Mone of Monaghan Town Runners claimed 2nd place in 38:51, while podium regular Susan Smyth (Dromore AC) completed the top three in 39:19 (3rd place).

In the associated 5k race, Armagh AC’s Gary Henderson won in 16:28 (1st place), with his club mate Niamh Donnelly (Armagh AC) taking the ladies title in 19:28 (1st place).
