Carnlough Quarry 5k 2019. Starting at the heart of the village runners travel up a concrete lane for under a mile where they hit the quarry with its loose limestone paths under foot. This is where the real climbing starts with epic views of the coastline, from here descending down the other side of the Quarry and out onto the Largy Road, with a short out and back before a fast descent into the heart of the village under one of the iconic limestone bridges to the finish line.
A brief downhill section sent runners around the turning point and back up the now steeply uphill section! From there it was a fast descent along the track and path of the old railway line back to the finish on the Hurry Head.
Podium results below, well done to all those who took part. Full results can be downloaded from the NI Running Results page.
