Novosco 10k Grand Prix 2017:
After fifteen races and a some fierce competition, David Clarke (North Belfast Harriers) tops the final table of the Novosco 10k Grand Prix 2017 table.
Starting back in March 2017, the 2nd annual Novosco 10k GP worked its way through the Spring and Summer before finishing with the Seeley Cup 10k (inc NI & Ulster 10k Road Championships) last weekend in Belfast (Saturday 25th November 2017). Athletes had to complete 6 of the 15 races to count in the final standings of the age-graded Grand Prix.
David completed 7 races in total and finished with an overall ranking of 88.72% – this was enough to secure 1st place and the associated £1,000 prize. Ann Terek (City of Lisburn AC) claimed 2nd place with an age grading score of 88.51%, while North Down AC’s Francis Marsh completed the top three with a score of 88.23% (3rd place).
The City of Lisburn AC (1st place) team topping the club leaderboard. Dromore AC finished in 2nd place, with North Down AC securing 3rd place.
The innovative GP, organised by ChampionChip Ireland and sponsored by Novosco, has proved extremely popular with the local running fraternity because of it’s age grading concept, which puts athletes of all ages on a level playing field whilst competing for honours. It will return in 2018, with final details being released in late 2017. The 2017 prize-giving will take place in Belfast in December 2017.
