Conall Kirk, Neil Johnston and Neil McCartan record PB’s at BMC Loughborough Grand Prix!

British Milers Club (BMC) Loughborough Grand Prix (England):

Conall Kirk (Annadale Striders / Mark Kirk), Neil Johnston (Springwell RC / Mark Kirk) and Neil McCartan (East Down AC / Mark Kirk) recorded new personal bests as a number of local athletes travelled to Loughborough for the latest BMC Grand Prix (Saturday 23rd June 2018).

Conall lined up in the 800m ‘C’ and led the field home in a new PB of 1:50.40 (1st place).  In the 5,000m (‘B’ race), Neil Johnston crossed the line in an impressive 14:22.74 (5th place).  Neil McCartan reduced his 1500m best to 3:53.64 when claiming 4th pace in the ‘E’ race.

There was also a seasons best for Lisburn 10k winner Chris Madden (City of Lisburn AC / Mark Kirk) of 14:51.60 (8th place) in the 5,000m ‘C’ race, while NI 5,000m record holder Emma Mitchel (QUB AC / Eamonn Christie) clocked 16:13.65 for 6th place in the high profile ladies 5,000m ‘A’ race.  Danny Mooney (Letterkenny AC / Teresa McDaid) ran 3:46.48 (9th place) in a stacked 1500m ‘A’ race.

Callum Crawford-Walker (Annadale Striders / Mark Kirk) and Fintan Stewart (City of Derry AC / Sean Laverty) were also in action over 800m, with Callum running 1:53.24 (6th place) in the ‘E’ race and Fintan 1:59.38 (9th place) in the ‘D’ race.

In the 1500m ‘C’ race, Jonny Whan (City of Lisburn AC / Mark Kirk) clocked 4:00.74 (13th place), while in the ‘G’ race over the same distance, GB & NI international James Hamilton (Ballymena Runners / Mark Kirk) ran 4:14.86 (17th place).
