Conor Duffy wins as NI athletes impress at Blayney Rockets 10 mile road race!


Blayney Rockets 10 mile Road Race 2017:

On Saturday 29th July 2017, a large number of Northern Ireland based athletes were amongst the three hundred strong field who took on the popular Blayney Rockets 10 mile road race in County Monaghan, Ireland.

Glaslough Harriers’ Conor Duffy, a Northern Ireland international, led the field home in 53:42 (1st place).  Newcastle AC’s in-form Jack O’Hare claimed a top ten place in 1:02:13 (10th place).

Three local ladies made the top ten in the ladies race, with Amanda Perry (Ballydrain Harriers) narrowly missing a podium spot when crossing the line in 1:10:09 (4th place).  Sperrin Harriers’ Tanya Quinn recorded 1:14:08 for 7th place, while Carmen Runners athlete Aisling Murray ran 1:14:48 for 8th place.
