County Antrim Harriers Weekend Roundup

County Antrim Harriers enjoyed their outing to the Kells & Connor charity race events on Saturday (12th).  While 9 Harriers took on the 5 mile course, Niall Robison, was the Clubs sole representative in the half marathon.  Despite the tough courses everyone ran superbly, and all enjoyed the post-race BBQ.  Special mention to Emma Hill on her well deserved PB.  Results: Half – Niall Robinson 2:24:39.  5 Miles – John Holmes 43:41; Carol Annesley 44:16; Margaret Beattie 44:41; Emma Hill 47:18 PB; Alison Henderson 47:21; Brian Cunningham 49:41; Barbara Beattie 50:26; Tracey Hegarty 50:27; and Tracy Andrews 50:55.

Elsewhere, Wendy Forsythe took part in the NI Masters XC Championships and Trials at Queens Playing Fields.  Good conditions were good and Wendy took the lapped course in her stride to take first in her age group and make selection for the team to compete at the British and Irish International XC in Southport on 16th November!

Also on Saturday, Tracy Gilpin was in action at the Killarney Quest Adventure Race.  The 27k challenge comprised of cycling, kayaking, a mountain run, before another cycle! Tracey enjoyed (nearly) every minute of the adventure.

On the ParkRun scene, 22 Harriers took part in four events across County Antrim.  Well done all.
