Carlingford 5k Road Race 2018:

Emerging star Craig McMeechan (North Down AC) took top honours as Northern Ireland based athletes dominated the podium at tonight’s Glenmore 5k road race in Carlingford, Ireland (Friday 3rd August 2018).

The NI & Ulster Intermediate XC Champion won in 15:13 (1st place), seeing off fellow NI athlete Conal McCambridge (North Belfast Harriers), who took 2nd place in 15:21.

In the ladies race, which was won by Una Britton (Kilcoole AC) in 16:53, North Down AC’s Jessica Craig claimed 2nd place in a personal best of 17:00.  Breege Connolly (City of Derry AC) enjoed her final outing before the European Athletics Championships with a 17:18 finish for 3rd place.
