CANCELLATION * DESSIE’S RUN

Due to the ongoing Covid 19 situation City of Derry Spartans AC have reluctantly decided to cancel our popular annual Dessie’s Run 10K road race set for Tuesday 25th August next.

We spent considerable time and effort to deal with the logistical issues associated with a competitive road race in the Covid 19 circumstances. However given our course has a circa 6K section out and back along a narrow Greenway path, ensuring proper social distancing could not be ensured.

We apologise to all the runners and spectators who will be disappointed to hear this but look forward to seeing you all in 2021, on Wednesday 25th August, at the next Dessie’s Run.

We intend to mark our continuing appreciation of our former club captain Dessie, next month on 25th August, with a small group of local runners and McNulty family members jogging the course.
