Eoin Lennon secures top twenty finish at WMRA Long Distance Championships!

World Mountain Running Association (WMRA) Long Distance Championships 2018:

On Sunday 24th June 2018, Northern Ireland men Eoin Lennon (Carnethy HRC) and Ian Bailey (Newcastle AC) were part of the Ireland team in competition at the WMRA Long Distance Mountain Running Championships in Poland.

The pair covered a 36k course which incorporated 2,110m of ascent.

Eoin claimed an outstanding 19th place finish, crossing the line in 2:51:08.  Ian followed in an excellent 2:58:20 for 33rd place.  Their Ireland team mate Des Kennedy finished in 3:17:50 for 62nd place.

The race was won by Italian Alessandro Rambaldini in 2:39:18 (1st place).

Respected ultra-runner Nicki McPeak (Unattached) completed the World famous Western States 100 mile Mountain-Trail Race in America (Saturday 23rd June 2018).

Nicki completed the gruelling route in 23:35:52 for a very credible 100th place.  Full results for the event are available HERE.

Scotland based NI man Dave Andrews secured 4th place at the famous West Highland Way Ultra this weekend (Saturday 23rd June 2018).  Dave completed the gruelling 95 mile course, which includes nearly 15,000ft of ascent in 17:37:32.
