Take the Tower 10k 2018:

On Friday 1st June 2018, well over one hundred athletes completed the inaugural ‘Take the Tower’ 10k in County Down.

The event saw competitors complete a tough course, including the climb to the iconic Scrabo Tower, during the latter stages of the race.

The fast improving Glen Taylor won as he and his Ballydrain Harriers club mates dominated the podium places.  Glen completed the course in 37:53 for 1st place, with David McNeilly (Newcastle AC) and Jared Martin (Scarbo Striders) following in 39:02 (2nd place) and 39:23 (3rd place) respectively.

A trio of Ballydrain Harriers ladies made up the female podium, with Amanda Perry winning in 45:17 (1st place).  Claire Ingram crossed the line in 48:55 for 2nd place, before Amanda Jackson completed the clean sweep in 51:16 (3rd place).
