Gordy Graham and Laura O’Driscoll lead the way at 26extreme Castlewellan 10k Night Race!

26extreme Castlewellan 10k Trail Race 2018:

Gordy Graham (Unattached) and Laura O’Driscoll (Unattached) secured top honours as well over two hundred athletes took on the re-scheduled 26extreme Castlewellan 10k Trail Race (Friday 12th January 2018).

Athletes donned head torches as they completed the two lap route and it was the ever improving Gordy who led the way, finishing four minutes clear of his nearest rival.  The Kilkeel man, who won the recent Burren 12 mile Race, broke the tape in 38:23 (1st place).  In a close battle for the runners up prize, William Shields (Club Unknown) saw off  Martin Jared (Club Unknown), crossing the line in 42:30 (2nd place).  Martin completed the top three in 42:55 (3rd place).

In a closely contested ladies race, experienced trail runner Laura O’Driscoll sealed victory in 43:29 (1st place).  The always impressive Karen Wilton (Unattached) followed in 43:50 (2nd place), while Fiona Milligan crossed the line in 46:21 for 3rd place.
