Jason Wilson and Grace Carson continue good form at Sperrin Harriers Winter League Trail Series 2018!

Sperrin Harriers Winter League Trail Series – Race 4…  Drum Manor 10k 2018:

On Saturday 27th January 2018, well over one hundred athletes turned out for the fourth race of the ongoing Sperrin Harriers Winter League Trail Series, the Drum Manor 10k in Cookstown.

At the front, Ballymena Runners’ Jason Wilson added to his recent Series win with an excellent performance for top honours.  The versatile athlete recorded 37:13 for 1st place, finishing just ahead of Shane Donnelly (Unattached), who secured 2nd place in 37:36.  Conor Maguire of Omagh Harriers crossed the line 37:40 to complete the men’s podium, while unattached athletes Paddy Corr (37:53) and Seamus Bradley (39:24) claimed 4th place and 5th place respectively.

In the ladies race, young Mid Ulster AC athlete Grace Carson again impressed.  Grace has been challenging for honours throughout the Series and picked up another win and valuable overall points when breaking the tape in 41:58 (1st place).  Gillian Wasson (Ballymena Runners) took 2nd place in 43:38, before Termoneeny RC’s Helena Quinn clocked 44:24 for 3rd place.  Orangegrove AC’s Edwina Ternan followed in 44:46 (4th place), with Springwell RC athlete Karen McLaughlin completing the top five ladies in 45:22 (5th place).
