Ballynahinch ‘Run to Remember’ 5k Road Race 2018:

John Craig (Victoria Park & Connswater AC) and Sarah Graham (Mourne Runners) excelled as nearly 250 athletes turned out for the Ballynahinch 5k road race (Saturday 10th October 2018).

The event, hosted by Atlas Running, covered a tough course, measuring just over 5k.

At the head of the pack, John Craig, winner of last weekend’s Decathlon 10k, dominated.  Apart from the opening 800m, the Ballynahinch native ran a solo effort, taking the win in 17:12 (1st place).  East Down AC’s Martin Wilcox secured 2nd place in 19:00, before Ross Moore of Saintfield Striders crossed the line in 19:13 for 3rd place.

Sarah Graham continued what has been an excellent year with yet another podium place; this time 1st place.  The Mourne Runners athlete clocked 20:25 to take the ladies title and claim 6th place overall.  Ever impressive Joanne Foster (East Down AC) followed in 21:45 (2nd place), while Albertville Harriers’ Beverley Mitchell completed the top three in 22:25 (3rd place).
