Omagh CBS 10k & 5k 2018:

Keith Shiels (Foyle Valley AC) and Michelle Sturm (Omagh Harriers) emerged victorious as over 200 runners turned out for the annual Omagh CBS 0k and 5k road races in Omagh, County Tyrone (Saturday 3rd February 2018).

Keith was returning to action after seeing off several injuries over the last 12 months and showed that he is not far off his best with a comfortable win.  The Foyle Valley AC man broke the tape in 32:58 for 1st place and was followed across the line by local hero Stephen Duncan (Omagh Harriers), who clocked 33:44 (2nd place).  Just under three minutes later, another Omagh Harriers athlete, Eoin Mullan, completed the top three in 36:25 (3rd place).

In the ladies race, the ever impressive Michelle Sturm sealed top spot with a finish time just outside of the famous 40-minute mark (for 10k), crossing the line in 40:20 (1st place).  Paula Donnelly (Unattached) ran 41:55 for 2nd place, before in-form Olivia Mullin (Greencastle AC) recorded 43:26 for 3rd place.

In the associated 5k race, Martin Cox (Unattached) won in 16:04 (1st place), with Nakita Burke of Letterkenny AC leading the ladies home in 17:36 (1st place); this was enough to see Nakita take 2nd place overall.
