Kerry O’Flaherty records personal best on her way to victory in Cavan!

KIA Race Series 2018 – Run with Catherina 10k:

Local athletes Kerry O’Flaherty (Newcastle AC) and Conan McCaughey (Derry Track Club) claimed podium places at the annual Run with Catherina 10k in Cavan, Ireland this weekend (Saturday 28th April 2018).

The event was part of the KIA Race Series, and Kerry, who won the last event in the Series, the Streets of Portlaoise 5k in a course record time, again impressed with a course record and win – on top of this, Kerry recorded a new personal best.

The Rio Olympian led a star-studded ladies field home in a speedy 33:56 (1st place).

In the men’s race, which was won by Hiko Tonosa (DSD AC) in 30:11 (1st place), Northern Ireland’s Conan McCaughey claimed 3rd place in 31:53.

Northern Ireland international Katie Moore (North Down AC) impressed with a personal best at the prestigious British Universities and Colleges Sport 10,000m Championships.
