Maguiresbridge Running Club Virtual London Marathon

MRC had an amazing day yesterday watching and supporting some of our runners out doing the 40th London Marathon virtually around our local roads.
We had 2 groups and a solo runner out yesterday running the 26.2miles for the very coveted bling.
The first group set off at 8am from St. Mary’s heading towards Lisnaskea and back again. Our second group started at 0830 concentrated efforts around the New Line and set off in loops around there and back into Maguiresbridge. Our solo runner did two half marathons around Littlemount.
All were well supported by other MRC members whether it was out making sure they had everything they needed, when they needed it along the way, or cheering them On, running with them to keep them company or being at the finish to cheer them back home again and serving up hot teas and coffee.
In the absence of essentially a full years racing, it was a real celebration for both the Club and all the runners – an amazing achievement. We had a first marathon, a 24th marathon, and a PB so while they are nursing tired Legs today, they are elated with their performances yesterday and they cannot wait for their medals to arrive.
