Meet the Contributors…Dr. Mary Margaret Meade

Dr. Mary Margaret Meade is a lecturer in Sport and Exercise Psychology at Ulster University. She is accredited with the Sport Ireland Institute and the British Association of Sport and Exercise Sciences (BASES).

As an applied practitioner, Mary Margaret has provided sport psychology consultancy and support to a wide range of athletes and teams competing at local, national and international level.

She has worked with athletes in several sports including athletics, golf, Gaelic football, soccer, swimming, fencing, triathlon, table tennis, clay pigeon shooting, boxing, canoe slalom, dressage, downhill mountain biking, skiing, handball, and motor sport.

Mary Margaret is a Chartered Scientist (CSci) and a member of the Sport and Exercise Sciences Research Institute (SESRI) at Ulster University. Her main research focus is on eating disorders in sport and she has published her work in a number of peer-reviewed journals.

Mary Margaret is a keen long-distance runner and has competed at World and European level in cross-country.
