My Poppy Run 2020

If you or your running club members would like to show their support for this year’s Poppy Appeal, why not check out ‘My Poppy Run’!

Between 1 October and 30 November, ‘My Poppy Run’ is a virtual fundraising event that’s open to all. Our UK park run events usually take place in October and November, but these are unable to take place this year due to social distancing measures. Instead, you can sign up for ‘My Poppy Run’ and choose to walk, jog or run any distance, whenever it suits you: in a park after work, around town during the weekend, or even on a treadmill in the morning.

Get family and friends involved and raise funds to ensure no-one who has served is disadvantaged because of the sacrifices they have made. You’ll be joining a community of runners doing their part to support the Poppy Appeal during these difficult times.

For nearly 100 years, we’ve been supporting the Armed Forces community through the Poppy Appeal. The Legion has worked tirelessly to ensure that those who have served and made sacrifices for us, and their families, are being looked after, no matter what challenges the nation faces.

As a My Poppy Runner, you’ll receive lots of support and encouragement along the way. Entry is FREE, and you’ll receive:

  • A downloadable fundraising pack
  • My Poppy Run facebook cover
  • Totaliser poster
  • Virtual fundraising ideas to help you raise sponsorship safely from your own home

To make your race extra-special, you can choose to order a Poppy Run medal for £10, and add a t-shirt (£5 adults and £3 children). In addition, we’ll send you special acknowledgments when you reach fundraising milestones:

·       A special eco-friendly wooden Poppy fundraiser badge sent to everyone who sets up their Just Giving page and receives their first online donation

·       An exclusive medallion to be awarded for everyone who raises over £100

You can sign up for free at: https://www.britishlegion.org.uk/get-involved/things-to-do/events/my-poppy-run

It would be fantastic if you could distribute this information to your members and give them the opportunity to support this year’s Poppy Appeal.

No one should have to walk the road to recovery alone. Together, we’re unstoppable.
