NiRunning and Belfast Activity Centre launch Rathlin Run 2018:
Today, Tuesday 30th January 2018, local running website www.nirunning.co.uk (NiRunning – Northern Ireland Running) proudly launched the 17th annual Rathlin Run for 2018; Northern Ireland’s most unique, and arguably, most challenging road race.
The event, which is organised in association with highly respected charity Belfast Activity Centre (BAC) will take place on Saturday 25th August 2018.
As always, the incredibly scenic but gruelling ’10 mile challenge’ will be the feature race with the associated 5k race also returning, therefore offering an alternative for those wanting to test themselves over (or enjoy) a flatter, shorter course.
Last year brought several changes for the increasingly popular event, with the development of an official Rathlin Run website (www.rathlinrun.co.uk) and a more prominent social media presence, via new facebook (@RathlinRunOfficial) and twitter (@RathlinRun) accounts – this provides an all year round presence for the event, which was originally started in the early 2000’s by Raleigh International.
In 2018, on top of the current prize structure, organisers www.nirunning.co.uk, will introduce a prize for the leading male and female athlete from Rathlin Island to finish both the 10 mile race and 5k race.
The race reached its 400 capacity last year (2017), so early entry is essential.
Entries for the 2018 event will be available via the new website at www.rathlinrun.co.uk from 7pm on Monday 19th February 2018 – earlier that day, our associate sponsors, the Rathlin Island Ferry Company, will release their summer timetable and open bookings.
It is IMPORTANT to note that participants must book their return ferry to Rathlin Island with event associate sponsors Rathlin Island Ferry Company (via 028 2076 9299) prior to entering the event.
