Irish Life AAI National Road Relay Championships 2018:
Northern Ireland club North Down AC claimed a podium place in the Senior Ladies race at the Irish Life AAI National Road Relay Championships in Dublin, Ireland (Sunday 22nd April 2018).
The talented trio of Rachel Gibson, Jessica Craig and Sarah Lindsay completed the four mile race in 21:42 (2nd place), claiming silver medals.
Rachel kicked things off with a 5:13 mile, before Jessica recorded 11:02 over 2 miles. Sarah took on the final mile leg and covered it in 5:27.
The NI ladies had led for much of the race, but the impressive DSD AC came through late on to win in 21:34 (1st place).
In the Senior Men’s race, the North Down AC team of Dennis Scott, Francis Marsh, Craig McMeechan and Jamie McMeechan took 15th place, with hosts Raheny Shamrock AC claiming 1st place.
