Northern Ireland runners named in Ireland’s European 24-Hour Championships squad!

European 24-Hour Championships 2018:

Northern Ireland trio Louise Smart (County Antrim Harriers), Susan McCartney (BARF) and Eddie Gallen (Finn Valley AC) have been named in Ireland’s team for the upcoming European 24-hour Championships.

Respected Northern Ireland based Physiotherapist Gary McConville is also named as part of the team

The official Athletics Ireland statement is below:

The 24-hour European Championships for 2018 will take place in Timisoara, Romania on Saturday 26th & Sunday 27th May 2018. The Irish Team selected for this event will include participants in both the male and female races. Both teams are confident of improving on their rankings from the 2017 World Championships held in Belfast where the Women’s Team finished in 8th position and the Men’s Team finished in 9th position. The squad will be captained by the current national champion and 24 hour record holder Eoin Keith.
