Robbie Does the Double on Mountain Marathons

A proud week for the club as SGR Robbie Marsh did the area proud at the Seven Sisters Skyline in Donegal  2 mountains Marathons in 2 days ,one of which was an Ultra.
SGR Robbie Marsh surpassed himself once again by taking part in the Seven Sisters Skyline two day Marathon on Saturday and Sunday.
This two day event saw Robbie run with the finest elite mountain runners from across europe and around the World in Ireland’s first Skyline event on an amazing Wild course in Donegal.
Day one saw Robbie take on the 26km Sky Challenge a  2,100m ascent and gave Robbie a feel for what was to come with day 2 as he took on the 50km Skyline a massive 4,000m ascent from Mackoght Mountain to Errigal Mountain Commonly known as the “Seven Sisters”, each of the seven mountains have their own gaelic names of Errigal (751 m), Mackoght a.k.a. Little Errigal (555 m), Aghla More (584 m), Ardloughnabrackbaddy (603 m), Aghla Beg (564 m), Crocknalaragagh (471 m) and Muckish (666 m).
What these mountains may lack in Altitude, I guarantee you they more than make up with their Attitude !!. Robbie not only tackled 2 days of mountain running but with amazing times in both events coming in 05:37:01 in the 26km Sky Challenge and 13:02:39 in the 50km Skyline. Well done Robbie from everyone at the club on an outstanding event.
