Dessie’s 10k Road Race 2018:

Scott Rankin (Foyle Valley AC) and Ann-Marie McGlynn (Letterkenny AC) produced impressive front running performances to claim well-deserved wins at the annual Dessie’s 10k road race last night (Wednesday 22^nd August 2018).

Current NI & Ulster 10k and 10,000m Champion Scott Rankin showed his class as he sealed top honours in 31:48 (1^st place). Fellow North West athlete Kyle Doherty, of City of Derry AC, followed in 32:16 (2^nd place). In-form Eoin Hughes (Acorns AC) completed the top three in 32:28 (3^rd place); this was a new Acorns AC club record.

In the ladies race, Northern Ireland and Ireland international Ann-Marie McGlynn was in good form as she raced clear to win in an excellent 33:59 (1^st place).  In a close race for the runners up spot, Ciara Toner (Springwell Running Club) edged out Nikita Burke (Letterkenny AC), crossing the line in 36:37 (2^nd place).  Nikita clocked 36:44 for 3^rd place.
