Seamus Lynch wins as NI athletes dominate podium at IMRA event!

Powerscourt Ridge Mountain Race 2018:

NIMRA and IMRA Champion Seamus Lynch (Newcastle AC) claimed victory as runners from Northern Ireland dominated the podium at this weekend’s Powerscourt Ridge Mountain Race in the Wicklow Mountains, Ireland (Saturday 3rd November 2018).

The race covered 12.5k in distance and incorporated 690m of ascent.

International athlete Seamus led the field home, taking 1st place in 1:00:18 (1st place).  He was followed across the line by club mate Mark Stephens (Newcastle AC) in 1:02:59 (2nd place).  UCD AC’s Ruairi Long took 3rd place in 1:03:26.

In the ladies race, which was won by Irish international Sarah McCormack (Ambleside AC) in 1:07:20 (1st place), Northern Ireland pair Esther Dickson (Newry AC) and Martsje Hell (North Belfast Harriers) picked up podium places.  Esther claimed 2nd place in 1:13:14, with Mourne Skyline MTR 2018 winner Martsje crossing the line in 1:14:11 for 3rd place.
