SGR David Rushe and Tina Crawley proudly represent the club at the Bank of America Chicago Marathon on Sunday, that was also part of Marathon history as Brigid Kosgei broke the women’s marathon record in the windy city. David and Tina would have both been inspired to run as Eliud Kipchoge broke the 2 hour barrier on the Saturday and couldn’t wait like all runners to get starting. Tina who finished her 4th Major World Marathon in Chicago set a great time in 04:19:51 and already looking to get her fifth Major as soon as she can. David ran Chicago for the second time after running in last years event and taking 15 mins off his

LAWRENCE AT ROSTREVOR PARKRUN………
Well done to SGR Lawrence Malone on Saturday at the Kilbroney Park in Rostrevor, Lawrence added another great time of 22:27 and finishing in 9th place on what is a tough parkrun with a few wee hills towards the Caravan Park . Lawrence has been flying the flag for SGR at the local Parkruns and beyond ,let’s see more SGR give it ago at the local Parkruns in our area.
JOELEEN AT CARLINGFORD SPORTIVE ……….
Well done to SGR Joeleen Brogan who took to her bike for The Carlingford Loop Sportive on Saturday, that had a 62km route around the scenic shores Carlingford Lough starting and finishing in Newry using the Scenic Carlingford Ferry. What away to see the Carlingford Lough.
BRIAN AT THE GREAT FJORD SWIM…………..
SGR Brian Muckian took part in The Great Fjord Swim on Saturday an open water swimming race that took place on the tranquil waters of Killary Fjord.
Brian swam in the 3.9km event in a great time of 01:07:42 and finished in 21st Place,Well done Brian.
