Strabane’s first ever Christmas parkrun

Tomorrow will see Strabane’s first ever Christmas parkrun take place, as runners from far and wide will descend on the grounds of Holy Cross College to run, jog or walk the 5km route.

Launched in June, Holy Cross parkrun has gone from strength to strength and has experienced visitors from across U.K. and Ireland, all eager to complete the 5km  in an ideal setting.

As part of their festive parkrun celebrations, the local brass band will be on site to accompany parkrunners with plenty of festive songs and carols from start to finish, providing a unique musical setting to what is sure to be an exciting event.

Free refreshments will be available afterwards, and with the weather forecast looking favourable, interest has been steadily growing in recent days.

A big turnout is expected, and runners, joggers and walkers from both near and far are all very welcome. In particular, this is an ideal opportunity for any potential regionaires to achieve their status in style.

The event will kick off at 9:30am tomorrowand it is hoped that this is the first of many successful Christmas parkruns.
