Termoneeny RC Runners at events across the country.

The headline event of the week was the Belfast Half Marathon.  Months of training certainly paid off as members delivered fantastic performances at this very popular race.  There was also great representation from Termoneeny runners at a variety of other fixtures across the country.

Mourne Mountain Marathon

Annemarie and Stephen Pickering completed the Mourne Mountain Marathon on Saturday.
It is Ireland’s only two day endurance and navigation event held each year in the beautiful mountains of Mourne in Northern Ireland. Ascending elevations of 4000ft meant it was certainly a challenging course but an enjoyable running event with a difference nonetheless.  Well done Annemarie and Stephen.

Ogras Colour Run

Nicola Clements had a very enjoyable Saturday morning in Coalisland at the Ogras Colour Run.  This event was organised to raise funds for the Ogras Youth Centre which provides services for the young people of Coalisland.  It was great to see Nicola there to support it.

Dublin Half Marathon

A huge well done to Sabrena McLaughlin who ran the Dublin Half Marathon in Phoenix Park, also on Saturday. Sabrena finished in a fantastic time of 2:48:40.

Run Armagh Marathon

Two of the club’s long distance running enthusiasts, Declan Leung and James McNally, completed the Run Armagh Marathon. It started with a loop of the Mall followed by four 10k laps of the countryside. The high temperature  made this marathon much more challenging but they both had terrific runs and Declan finished in 3 hours 38 minutes and James in 4 hours 58 minutes. Well done Declan and James.

Portrush Parkrun

The East Strand beach had 274 runners pounding the sand on Saturday morning and club member Gary O’Doherty was leader of the pack because he finished Portrush Parkrun in 1st place with a superb result of 18:44. Well done Gary.

Antrim Parkrun

Great running was on display from three members at Antrim Parkrun. Kevin McErlean ran his 19th parkrun in 27:11. Ann Johnston was a first timer at Antrim and finished in 31:55. Getting ever closer to the 50 milestone is Anne Breen who ran her 35th parkrun in 33:38.

MUSA Parkrun

Well done to Thomas Doherty who finished in 4th place at MUSA parkrun with a fantastic result of 18:38. This was Thomas’ 35th parkrun.

Belfast City Half Marathon

Conditions on Sunday for the Belfast Half Marathon were not ideal but all of the TRC members still managed to churn out fantastic performances. Tommy Hughes and his son Eoin from Acorns AC just narrowly missed out on setting a new World Record for Combined Father and Son Half Marathon Time but they  still finished with astonishingly fast times, Eoin in 2nd place and Tommy in 6th place. Well done to TRC members who ran their first half marathon and to those who did not let the rain prevent them from achieving new personal bests. Thanks to the club Chairperson Jacqueline McGonigle for her support and photography. It was a very successful day for TRC.
