Termoneeny Running Club News week ending 6th October, 2019

It was a weekend of changeable weather but Termoneeny Running Club members embrace all elements and attended a variety of fixtures.  A notable achievement was accomplished by Tommy Hughes who won the Craigavon Lakes 3 Quarter Marathon.

Fermanagh Endurance Adventure Race

Running alone is challenging enough but the intensity certainly increases when it is interspersed with other activities.  This was exactly what Kevin Duggan took on when he completed the Fermanagh Endurance Adventure Race. Kevin finished the LONG race in 4:30:13. The course consisted of a 74K route of cycling, trail running and kayaking.  Well done Kevin on this terrific feat.

MUSA Parkrun

Kevin McErlean ran his 21st parkrun in MUSA on Saturday morning and finished in a brilliant time of 26:45.

Ecos Parkrun

Michael Burke finished 5th out of 181 runners in Ecos Parkrun, Ballymena. He ran an incredibly fast time of 19:42. This was his first time at Ecos.

Antrim Parkrun

Three TRC members took part in Antrim Parkrun and had fantastic results. Ann McGarvey ran her 32nd parkrun in 32:27 and Anne Breen ran her 40th parkrun in 33:20. Lindsay Gibson ran along with her son Jay and together they had a great result of 34:17.

Victoria Parkrun, Belfast

Anne O’Doherty was the 3rd female to finish in Victoria Parkrun. Anne sped around the course in a super time of 22:05.

Run Galway Bay

On Saturday morning Tracey Paul completed the Run Galway Bay Half Marathon along with her husband Richard. The weather was damp but the course was nice which consisted of three laps starting at the Claddagh then traversing through the heart of Salthill. Tracey had a fantastic race and finished in a magnificent time of 1:59:54.

Run-Anon Lough View 5k and 10k

Sunday was a beautiful morning for running and well done to the group of TRC members who participated in the Run-Anon Lough View 5k and 10k which took place in Crumlin.

Craigavon Lakes 3 Quarter Marathon

Congratulations to Tommy Hughes who won the Craigavon Lakes 3/4 Marathon and finished in 1:52:49. This is yet another tremendous achievement for Tommy who is a World Record breaking athlete. This victory demonstrates that Tommy is running in top form and provides great preparation for the upcoming Frankfurt Marathon. Excellent running was on display by all of theTRC members with Andrea Convery and Catherine Paul also picking up personal bests. Well done to everyone.
