Termoneeny Running Club Round Up w/e 15th December 2019

It has been a week tinged with deep sadness at the passing of Acorns AC, and Parkrun MUSA Race Director Irwin Speirs.  In a fitting tribute, Tommy Hughes dedicated his Parkrun PB at MUSA on Saturday to Irwin.

Ecos Ballymena

Anne Breen took part in the Ecos Parkrun in Ballymena finishing in an impressive 33:28 with another consistent run.  This was Anne’s 48th Parkrun – getting closer to the 50th milestone,  congratulations!

Run Armagh Christmas Cracker

Congratulations to Jacqueline McGonigle and Sinead who had an early start on Saturday morning for the Run Armagh Christmas Cracker Race, with both ladies completing the 10K of two loops around the new course, starting and finishing on the Mall.  As usual the proceeds were to be donated to charity. On this occasion to a local retirement home. Thanks to Armagh for their usual warm hospitality and flawless organisation.   Unofficial Results:  Sinead McGrogan : 1:05:45 3rd female. Jacqueline McGonigle : 1:17:00.

Pomeroy Santa Run 5K

Well done to Andy Campbell, Tracy Shanahan, Olivia McKenna and Nicola Clements who all took part in Saturday’s Pomeroy 5K Santa Run.  All proceeds were in aid of Queen Elizabeth II Primary School PTA funds. This was a challenging trail course with hills and mud to contend with but everyone ran a fantastic race.  Congratulations everyone!

Rudolph Run

Congratulations to Tom Halferty who took part in Saturday’s Rudolph Run 10k in Eskra.  In Tom’s own words the course was “brutal” but he put in a fine performance!  Tom finished in a super time of 1:06:41! Well done Tom.

Jingle All the Way

Anne Breen and Ann McGarvey were Jingling all the Way on Sunday morning around Stormont Estate in Belfast! Both took on the 5K course with the proceeds going to the Northern Ireland Children’s Hospice.Congratulations ladies!

Nutcracker 5K

Andy Campbell was on the road early this morning for his first race of the day –  the Nutcracker 5K in Cappagh, in aid of SVP. Andy finished the course in 31:51.

Craigavon Lakes 5k Santa Dash

Andy’s second festive run of the day was the Craigavon Lakes 5k Santa Dash. Due to some navigational challenges, Andy ran slightly further than the set course, but completed 3.5 miles in  a super time of 32:59!

Santa Dash, Armagh

It was a Santa Hat trick for Andy Campbell as he took part in his third and final festive event of the day on Sunday at the Triple A Santa Dash at the Palace Demesne,  Armagh.  Andy finished the 1.6 mile dash in 16:20! Fantastic effort Andy and well done to all our members for supporting so many worthy causes this week.
