Termoneeny Running Club Round Up w/e 19th January 2020

Termoneeny Running Club had a celebratory weekend because another one of its members joined the Parkrun 50 club.

MUSA Parkrun

A large group of Termoneeny runners descended upon MUSA parkrun on Saturday morning to celebrate Pauline McWiliiam’s 50th parkrun.  Pauline has completed parkruns in 12 different locations including the original parkrun in Bushy Park, London. Having attended MUSA Parkrun 32 times, it was fitting that this should be where she ran her 50th. It certainly was a morning for celebrating because Pauline also achieved a personal best.  Congratulations to Pauline on these terrific feats.
All the Termoneeny members had fantastic runs and Tony Toner and Mark Baxter embarked upon their first parkrun with both finishing well up the field.

Portrush Parkrun

Running on sand can be very difficult but this Termoneeny trio made it look easy at Portrush Parkrun.  Michael Burke finished 12th out of 282 runners and got a course PB of 19:49. Shaun Dillon had a fantastic run and finished in 23:45. Michelle Comer also achieved a course PB of 24:55. Well done to all three members.

Festival of Cross Country Relay

A very capable Termoneeny team headed to Bangor on Saturday morning to take part in the Festival of Cross Country Relay which was hosted by North Down AC. Each team member was tasked with running 2 x 1300 kilometre laps. Quinten Gilmore was the first TRC member to take to the field, he was followed by Daniel Pearson then by Fergal Hughes and Declan Leung ran the final round. The course was muddy but fairly flat and the TRC team finished in a terrific time of 50:43. Well done to everyone.

Thanks and congratulations to all of our members who continue to represent the Club so well throughout the country and further afield in a variety of distances and disciplines.   If you are interested in joining Termoneeny RC please visit termoneenyrc.com or send us a message on facebook.
