Termoneeny Running Club Round Up w/e 23rd February, 2020

Termoneeny runners out in all weather, from Swatragh to Seville!

MUSA Parkrun, Cookstown

On Saturday morning 3 of our runners braved the snow, wind and rain at MUSA Parkrun along with Bobby the black lab, Jacqueline’s running buddy.  Congratulations to of our ladies on super running in difficult conditions around this three loop course which is not one of the easiest Parkruns in NI.

Results:

Jacqueline McGonigle 28:41 course PB and 5K PB.

Colette Donaghy : 29.05.

Pauline McWilliams : 35.15.

Limavady Parkrun

The rain did not deter Michael Burke who ran  Limavady Park Run once again this week, finishing in a fantastic time of 19.57,  coming first in his VM40-44 category and 2nd overall..  This was Michael’s 39th Parkrun and his 5th time at Limavady. Well done on running in such wet conditions weather!

Thank you to the volunteers who give up their spare time to make sure that Parkrun events happen every week.

Michael Davitt GAC Swatragh 5K and 10K Fun Run

Luckily, the sun shone on our three members who took part in Sunday’s Michael Davitt GAC Swatragh 5K and 10K fun runs. The runs were organised by the Bridesmaids Team for the Night at the OsKaRs Fundraiser.   The route took runners towards Garvagh, with some pretty strong cross winds to contend with, then right for a loop around a beautiful, reasonably flat course into Swatragh finishing at the GAC Club. One loop for 5K, and two for 10K.  Helena Quinn and Sam Campbell completed the 5K and Jacqueline completed the 10K.

Zurich Maraton De Sevilla 2020

Huge congratulations to Christian Fortes O’Neill from everyone at TRC on completing his 65th marathon on Sunday morning. Christian is no stranger on the Spanish marathon circuit and this was his 6th time participating in this particular event.

Christian didn’t let the heat get to him – which was a staggering 27 degrees, and it showed as he achieved an incredible PB of 3:23:00, knocking 6 minutes of his Dublin Marathon time in 2019.  Superb running and once again, congratulations on your PB.

Thank you and congratulations to all of our members who continue to represent the club so well throughout the country and further afield in a variety of distances and disciplines.  If you are interested in joining Termoneeny RC please visit termoneenyrc.com or send us a message on Facebook.  We can assure runners of ALL abilities a warm and friendly welcome.
