Willowfield Harriers launch Podium 4 Sport Seeley Cup 10k – NI & Ulster 10k Championships!


Seeley Cup 10k 2017 inc NI & Ulster 10k (Road) Championships:

Belfast based sports retailer Podium 4 Sport is delighted to announce that they will continue as lead sponsor of the Seeley Cup 10K organised by Willowfield Harriers, which is celebrating its 36thyear. The race takes place on Saturday 25 November starting in Ormeau Park, Belfast (2.30 pm) and will incorporate the 2017 Northern Ireland and Ulster 10k Road Race Championship.

Almost 870 runners completed last year’s race through the beautiful surrounds of Ormeau Park with Derry Track Club’s, John Paul Williamson taking the Men’s title and Queens University AC athlete Emma Mitchell the Women’s.

Helping launch the 2017 are Willowfield athletes Amy Bulman and Thomas Carson. With Amy’s strong racing year, she is setting her sights on the podium for this upcoming race. Seen by many as one of the premier road races of the road running calendar, this is an ideal opportunity to test herself against the very best road runners in the north of Ireland and beyond.

Podium 4 Sport have extensive experience in providing expert advice regarding athletics, particularly relating to endurance running. The Montgomery Road store boasts a group highly trained staff who are available to provide Video Gait Analysis. Podium 4 Sport are proud to cater to the needs of all runners, stocking a varied selection of running gear from leading brands.

There is a total prize fund of over £1500 and many of Northern Ireland’s top road racers will be in action. The 10K route has been officially measured and will be run under Athletics Northern Ireland rules.

Participants will receive a performance t-shirt and the race will be timed by ChampionChip Ireland.  Online entry is available for the event at www.athleticsni.org and is capped at 1000 runners.
