World Championship Selections

Three athletes from Northern Ireland & Ulster will represent Ireland at the 2019 IAAF World Championships in Doha, Qatar from 27th September to 6th October.

Finn Valley AC’s Brendan Boyce and Clonliffe Harriers’ Stephen Scullion were both selected on 27th May at the end of the qualification period for their specific events. Scullion qualified for the Marathon event with a time of 2hrs 14 mins and 34 secs in Houston in January, which is the fastest Irish time for 7 years.

City of Lisburn AC’s Ciara Mageean has now been selected to take part in the 1500m event. The European Indoor Bronze Medallist is the only Irish female selected so far to compete in Doha.
