{"id":10428,"date":"2019-11-25T11:37:23","date_gmt":"2019-11-25T11:37:23","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/nirunning.voodooltd.co.uk\/?p=10428"},"modified":"2019-11-25T11:37:23","modified_gmt":"2019-11-25T11:37:23","slug":"county-antrim-ladies-impress-both-at-home-and-internationally","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nirunning.co.uk\/county-antrim-ladies-impress-both-at-home-and-internationally\/","title":{"rendered":"County Antrim Ladies Impress both at Home and Internationally"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>County Antrim Harrier, Wendy Forsythe, was in action at Aintree on Saturday (16<sup>th<\/sup>\u00a0November), representing Northern Ireland that the British and Irish Masters XC International. \u00a0Wendy rose to the occasion taking the testing 6k course in her stride and giving her all.\u00a0 The Club is very proud of her.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">Closer to home, 8 Harriers were in action at the popular 26 Extreme Tollymore Trail Marathon events.\u00a0 The chilly, dry day meant conditions were perfect for running the beautiful forest trails and hills of Tollymore; with half marathoners completing one loop, marathoners two loops, and ultra-participants three loops.\u00a0 First to toe the line were training partners Lyn Hardie, Sarah Kinnear and David Hamill in the Ultra event (40 miles).\u00a0 Unfortunately David had to reluctantly pull-out early due to injury; but the ladies continued, crossing the line together in an impressive 7:35:09, to take a well-deserved podium place (third female finishers).<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/nirunning.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/11\/image1-72-1.jpeg?ssl=1\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-10434\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/nirunning.voodooltd.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/11\/image1-72-225x300.jpeg?resize=225%2C300\" alt=\"\" width=\"225\" height=\"300\" data-recalc-dims=\"1\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\"><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/nirunning.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/11\/image2-55-1.jpeg?ssl=1\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-10429\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/nirunning.voodooltd.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/11\/image2-55-300x217.jpeg?resize=300%2C217\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"217\" data-recalc-dims=\"1\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">Andrena Berry and Patricia Hamill represented the Club in the marathon distance and the duo both ran strongly.\u00a0 While in the half marathon Claire Oliphant, Rachel Lloyd and new member Jennifer Hardie\u00a0all gave gutsy performances.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">Previously the Club was represented at the\u00a0popular annual charity event \u2018Run in the Dark\u2019 in Stormont Estate, which helps raise funds for the Mark Pollock Trust.\u00a0 Undeterred by the torrential rain or tough run up Parliament Hill, Shelley White and Karen Haddock donned their head-torches to race the 5k (one loop); while Simon McDowell and Chris Dickey took on the 10k (two loop).<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">Elsewhere John Holmes was the sole Harrier at the first race of popular Sperrin Harriers Winter League Trail Series at Davagh Forest.\u00a0 John ran strongly, successfully negotiating the 10k forest route.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>County Antrim Harrier, Wendy Forsythe, was in action at Aintree on Saturday (16th\u00a0November), representing Northern Ireland that the British and Irish Masters XC International. \u00a0Wendy rose to the occasion taking [&hellip;]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":990008,"featured_media":10432,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"_bbp_topic_count":0,"_bbp_reply_count":0,"_bbp_total_topic_count":0,"_bbp_total_reply_count":0,"_bbp_voice_count":0,"_bbp_anonymous_reply_count":0,"_bbp_topic_count_hidden":0,"_bbp_reply_count_hidden":0,"_bbp_forum_subforum_count":0,"_EventAllDay":false,"_EventTimezone":"","_EventStartDate":"","_EventEndDate":"","_EventStartDateUTC":"","_EventEndDateUTC":"","_EventShowMap":false,"_EventShowMapLink":false,"_EventURL":"","_EventCost":"","_EventCostDescription":"","_EventCurrencySymbol":"","_EventCurrencyCode":"","_EventCurrencyPosition":"","_EventDateTimeSeparator":"","_EventTimeRangeSeparator":"","_EventOrganizerID":[],"_EventVenueID":[],"_OrganizerEmail":"","_OrganizerPhone":"","_OrganizerWebsite":"","_VenueAddress":"","_VenueCity":"","_VenueCountry":"","_VenueProvince":"","_VenueState":"","_VenueZip":"","_VenuePhone":"","_VenueURL":"","_VenueStateProvince":"","_VenueLat":"","_VenueLng":"","_VenueShowMap":false,"_VenueShowMapLink":false,"footnotes":""},"categories":[94,111],"tags":[],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v22.6 -
