Zak Hanna and Sarah Graham star as NI team impress at Snowdon International Mountain Race!

Snowdon International Mountain Race:

Zak Hanna (Newcastle AC) and Sarah Graham (Mourne Runners) starred as a team of mountain runners represented Northern Ireland at the famous Snowdon International Mountain Race in Wales this weekend (Saturday 21st July 2018).

The course measured 10 miles in distance and incorporated approximately 3,000ft of ascent.

Zak Hanna continued his recent good form, which includes a 19th place finish at the recent World Mountain Running Championships, with a top ten finish.  The Newcastle AC athlete clocked 1:08:56 for an excellent 7th place finish.

Little separated William McKee (Mourne Runners) and Gavin Mulholland (Calder Valley FR) as they crossed the line in 1:14:43 (24th place) and 1:15:02 (25th place) respectively.  Timothy Johnston (Mourne Runners) completed the team in 1:16:12 (33rd place).

Sarah Graham led the local ladies home in 1:29:55 and narrowly missed a top ten finish, taking 11th place.  Shileen O’Kane (Lagan Valley AC) and Esther Dickson (Newry AC) also ran well, with Shileen taking 13th place in 1:30:16 and Esther 14th place in 1:31:31.
