Meet the contributors… Kirstin Haslett

At NiRunning we have pulled together a team of people who have extensive experience working within the Running World. We hope to bring you regular, relevant and really interesting blogs, videos, top-tips and articles to do with EVERYTHING running! Let’s continue to introduce you to that team..

Kirstin Haslett is the founder and lead Physiotherapist at Pure Physio Clinic.
Here’s her story…

Kirstin graduated from Glasgow Caledonian University with a BSc (HONS) Physiotherapy in 2004. On returning home to Northern Ireland she lay the groundwork of her career working in the NHS at The Royal Victoria Hospital and The Ulster Hospital. During this time she developed her skills in the treatment of women’s health, musculoskeletal, neurological and orthopaedic rehabilitation.

Following this Kirstin was lucky enough to move to New Zealand where she gained unbelievable experience in musculoskeletal, orthopaedic and sports rehabilitation as a Senior Physiotherapist in a New Zealand Sports Injury Clinic. She worked with both Provincial and State hockey teams which included travelling extensively on tour to interprovincial events.

On returning to Northern Ireland Kirstin continued to work in private practice in Belfast for a further 5 years using the time to specialise in a hands-on manual approach to treatment that provides great results for her patients.

She established Pure Physio Clinic in 2012 and has enjoyed building the practice and working with her exceptional colleagues.

On top of her exceptional experience Kirstin has been committed to undertaking extensive post graduate training over the years. This has ranged from specialised training in the treatment of Sporting injuries; Headaches and Spinal dysfunction (including nerve pain), Growing pains, Biomechanics and Women’s health. She is now considered a specialist in women’s health and incontinence. She has also started her Masters at the University of Ulster completing a spinal module.

Having completed courses by a PGA tour physiotherapist Kirstin has a special interest in working with golfers and their professionals. This has come off the back of a long relastionship working with provincial hockey teams, of which she continues to have a strong relationship with a number of clubs.

Kirstin has a busy life running around after two children, a dog and her husband. In her free time she enjoys walking in hills and mountains and has competed in the Mourne Mountain Marathon. (Mourne mountain marathon is celebrating 40 years this year!)

Kirstin  is a Chartered Physiotherapist, a member of the CSP and HCPC.
She is registered with all UK based private medical insurance companies.
